Well I have done it. Yes gone back to work today since 23rd March. I have done my first 3 hours (+ 1 hour travelling).
I suppose it is a start towards getting back to work.

I was soo scared yest and this morning. I was terrified and had several panic attacks which are horrid.
I could not stop shaking. All probably very silly . All strange for me after being a Manager and now theJunior. I couldn't even remember how to log on . . ..Confused

I was not at my local Branch. I am working this month at an office nearby as there the Manager is an ex
employee of mine as is a Senior Clerk. I was welcomed with open arms and I had Chocs bought for me
and tea made (as kitchen upstairs). When I got home made a cup of tea went upstairs to change out of uniform
lay on the bed and before I knew it it was 3 hours later. phew..

Thanks all for your good wishes.

Rose

Hello Rose, at least you have managed the fist day as have I. I am working at another school for my staged return to work because during the 15 months that I've been away there have been many changes including a complete refit of my kitchen so all my equipment is changed and there have been many many addmin changes but we have to take it slowly, because that's the idea of a staged return to work. I'm in again on Friday. Glenys.x

So pleased for both of you. A hurdle that you both cleared. Loads of good thoughts for you.

Hi Rose,
So pleased it went well, and that you were relaxed enough when home to rest. Hope it continues.

Hi Rose, sounds like a very good start. I'm sure the nap was necessary after the worries you were having, even though now you have seen they were unfounded and everyone was kind. Well done on your road back to the rat race!!!!Smile

Hello update

I am now 3 weeks down the line. Still in the 'other' office picking things up
again gradually. This week 4 hours yest and 4 hours tomorrow. I am exhausted
though when I get home I go to bed for couple of hours.

Yesterday was horrid I had put in a request for next years holiday and 3 out of
5 hols booked were refused saying the places had been taken. This was a big
set back for me and upset me badly yest. Today I feel better as my hubby says
next year is a way off and you don't know what hours etc. you will be able to
work at this point (as still not on correct drugs)

When you have been for so long though your confidence goes out of the window and
gives you a low esteem.

hi Rose,

sorry that you are feeling your confident knocked and low self esteem ... i can imagine it is hard to get back into the work place after time off and dealing with RA.

glad you manage a rest when you get home,

and hope that your confidence comes back with time.

Hi Rose,

Glad to hear your back at work, Be patient things will get better in time, It is a long haul at times but you will get there. There was a time when I didn't think I would ever be able to move properly again. But I keep well now so try to keep your spirits up. Thinking about you Lorna x Smile

Hi Rose

I fully understand what you say, just when you try to get back to (normal) after being off work, they have to dig their heels in.

I have returned to work on phased return and now working full time 35 hours, i was really proud of myself for this as a few months ago I wouldnt have thought I would, Im still not stableized on treatment yet its still early days but i am pushing myself to do well.

I have other problems within the workplace that have set me back, you may have seen my posts.

People do not seem to understand what RA is, when i went back to work a few of my colleagues were like how is your wrist? Which I broke last november and triggered my RA.

I wouldnt worry about the holidays for next year for now, like you say you might even have a different shift pattern.

Well done to you anyway and keep strong!

Love Michelle x.x.x.
